The final episode of our Project Snook video series is about the future of Mote Aquaculture Research Park and fish farming in America. We get to meet the Vice President of Fisheries and Aquaculture for Mote Marine, Dr. Ken Leber PhD. He has fascinating knowledge of the fish industry in our country. He states, "84% of the seafood we eat in this country is imported." He believes aquaculture is the future. You can control the process. You have a secure process with control over the outcomes. If we don't begin to grow our food supply in this country, who knows what might happen. DONATE NOW

What if we could find a company who would create a special edition product and donate 100% of the proceeds to Mote's Snook Enhancement Program? That was the first task on the "to-do" list in order to get Project Snook moving, but without a flagship sponsor, it wouldn't get off the ground.

Addictive Fishing Television has been one of the most popular saltwater fishing shows on television for the past 10 years, and Capt. Blair Wiggins brings the power of celebrity to Project Snook. "Being able to help preserve our fisheries, make sure it will be here for the next generation, and reach a mass audience with our television show is what it's all about," says Capt. Blair Wiggins. This year, Capt. Blair and the AF crew will be producing short news features on Mote's snook spawning process for their television show and internet viewers. This is a tremendous value for the program and will bring in much needed sponsors for Project Snook.

This is where the power of Addictive Fishing's great sponsors comes in. Star brite, maker of the nation's best marine cleaning products, has supported conservation efforts in the past, and the guys at Star brite, Gregor Dorneau and Bill Lindsey, called the studio line the following week with great news. They proposed a signature series Blair Wiggins "Sea Safe" boat wash product with 100% of the proceeds going to Project Snook. This was a big start! Kevin McCabe, Project Snook's creator, was ecstatic, "The first sponsor is the biggest hurdle in starting a program like this and to have a company like Star brite step up to the plate is confirmation that Project Snook is needed! We are honored to have such a great industry partner behind us."

Star brite has been making cleaning products for boats, RV's, and automobiles since 1973, and this Ft. Lauderdale-based company has been a long term supporter of snook research. Bill Lindsey, VP of Marketing, "Star brite is honored to be part of Addictive Fishing's Project Snook by producing our Limited Edition Blair's Boat Wash. Our company is run by hardcore fishermen and boaters who recognize the importance of the efforts being undertaken by Mote Marine Labs to restore Florida's snook fisheries. We agree with Blair that our natural resources are the greatest gifts we can provide to future generations, which is why we formulate our products to be biodegradable and why we developed and manufacture the innovative biodegradable bottles used in Blair's Boat Wash. We are proud to be a sponsor of Addictive Fishing."

Thanks to Star brite, Project Snook will have a clean start to conserving the snook population.
